The desperation of Nigerian politicians knows no bounds and we keep breaking the records in reverse direction. This time around a senator who is in a bitter ego battle with the governor of his state has raised an alarm that the collection of signatures towards recalling him from Senate is nothing but a charade marred by unprecedented corruption and dishonesty.
Senator Dino Melaye first called for state of emergency in his state following what he called a second assassination attempt on his life. He thereafter claimed that Governor Bello who is owing 15 months salary paid Millions to career criminals to collect signatures towards his recall from senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Dino claimed that one of those collecting signatures confessed that all the signatures were actually forged inside somebody's living room and the list of people whose signatures will be forged was obtained from the electoral commission.
At the end of the day, signatures of dead people appeared on the list and the number of signatures far exceeded the number of accredited authentic voters in the state. In fact there are more than 70 000 non authentic voters on the list.
On anotnher hand Governor Bello who is embattled and is said to be a governor mainly because of his proximity with Buhari is said to be fighting his enemies with every weapon available. He even organised a prayer session for Buhari and told the congregation that Buhari will soon be back. Saying that Buhari will soon be back has become a political stunt in Northern Nigeria where Buhari is still seen as a solution rather than a problem.
Anyway the dice is cast.Dino is likely to survive and Bello is also likely to survive because removing a governor remains an uphill task. However in Nigeria money talks because our Lady Justice has her eyes wide open and collects bribe in US dollars

MEDITATION ON FATE OF NIGERIA
Nigeria that Would not Have Been (Please Share)
It is 2056, I sat by my balcony of a duplex in a place where I used to call my village but now it turned to a city. Grey haired and healthy. I looked amazingly at the streets that were cast in nylon coal tar, eating pringles made in Jos Nigeria. As I thought about good things in life, I looked over the the car my 25 year old son had bought for me after graduating from the prestigious SLS University in Kontagora. The car was made in Nnewi, a town in south eastern Nigeria. The car was being recharged. I thought again, thirty years ago, only mobile phones could be charged, now a car made by my nation is recharged like a mobile phone when I was in my forties.
A few months back, I was in Abuja Nigeria, a city I lived in until my retirement in 2026 had changed; it is now a mega city. A city that once had its electricty rationed, each area having 4 hours of electricity per day now has 24 hours of electricity. Electric trains arrived their stations every 10 minutes. I heard the trains were manufactured in Lagos, Nigeria. The defunct Peugeot company in Lagos was bought over by young man from Jos plateau and was used churn out electric trains and their exotic cabins which we only saw in the Europes when we were young men. I was informed that the regional train line between Port Harcourt up to Liberia was made by the same company, Datong Electro Mobility (DEM) Limited.
I called my 25 year old son to tell him the story of how Nigeria had narrowly escaped being subdivided into chuncks of little countries because it was falling apart due to bad Governance. Nigeria shared cabinate positions based of fair division between first people’s religion, then the region they came from then their professional abilities were looked at later. This made some people to be relevant king makers for over 40 years. Their ideology was to keep Nigeria one but by managing the regions with National Political Appointments based on fair distribution across the areas of conflict namely religion and region. This was because of the tensions that were evident as a result of sentiments drawn along those lines.
In 2017, regions started declaring the desire to break away from the country. There were tensions everywhere. Northerners living in the south felt threatened. Southerners living in the North felt theatened. From time to time, violence erupted and people were maimed simply because of where they came from. Nigeria was at the brink of another civil war.
2019 was an election year, young men took a decision to break the norm of recycling of leaders. They declared that any one that had served in any previous Government would not be re-elected. This singular decision changed the destiny of Nigeria. 80% of those elected into power were unpopular young people; some in their thirties. Things began to take shape and got to thus stage where you are enjoying life in a country that was nearly subdivided. The young men built this new Nigeria on the strengths of difference; agriculture in the North, Technology in the south east, education in the South West. The synergy put everything in place and it was the seed that led to today’s Nigeria. The most important step they took, in my opinion, was the introduction of peace education which was compulsory from primary school. This built a based for the synergy against the apathy that existed in the past.
Today as an old man of over 70 years, I looked with awe at a “Nigeria that Would not Have Been”. I have free healthcare just because I am old and have served Nigeria all my youthful years not because of my religion nor did I lobby my highly placed kinsmen.

8. *The World’s fastest supercomputer* was designed by a world renowned inventor and scientist, *Philip Emeagwali,* a full-blown Nigerian whose patency was awarded in 2015. This means Nigeria has the patency to the world’s fastest computer: a Black Nigerian.

10. South Africa couldn’t have ended apartheid & achieved Black rule if not for the leadership role Nigeria played.
11. Of the 3 South African Presidents who ruled after apartheid, two of them once lived in Nigeria under asylum. Both Nelson Mandela (60s) and Thabo Mbeki (70s) lived in Nigeria before becoming President of South Africa. We gave financial support, human support, boycotted an Olympics and our politicians, musicians and activists campaigned relentlessly.
12. Nigeria spent over $3 Billion and lost hundreds of soldiers to end the wars in both Liberia and Sierra Leone which the world ignored because they have no oil.
13. When there was a coup in São Tomé and Príncipe in 2003, Nigeria restored the elected President back to power.

16. Amina was a warrior queen who ruled Zaria Emirate in Kaduna state, Northwestern Nigeria 400 years ago in 1610. Google and see what she means to Africa.
17. We gave monetary gifts to Ireland during our oil boom and built a statue for France free of charge. We are not poor blacks. Nigeria is rich and don’t be lied to.
18. The first television station in Africa was *NTA Ibadan (1960)* long before Ireland has their RTE station.

Wherever you look in this great country, Nigeria, heroes abound both now and in our recent and ancient past.
If all you do is listen to mainstream Western media, you’ll not get the full picture of your Nigerian heritage.
Do not listen to any leader who says Nigerians are criminals, no matter who he is, or his height and position.
We’re not a nation of scammers, drugs & corruption, but a people with a verifiable track record of greatness.
==========
Here is what CNN, BBC, Aljezeera and western media will not tell you about Nigerians:
19. On the 7th May, 2016 at *Howard University* in Washington D.C history was made. Out of 96 graduating Doctor of Pharmacy candidates, *43 of them were Nigerians* and out of 27 awards given, 16 went to Nigerians.
The entire world still envies our uniqueness as a NATION with living together despite our ethnic diversity. One single country with over *400 languages.*
They will only tell you how Nigerians are scammers and cheats, how Nigerians are into drugs overseas et al.
If you don’t blow your trumpet, no one
will blow it for you.
#VIVA_NAIJA!!
20. There are over 180,000,000 Nigerians world over and only less than 250,000 of this figure have traceable criminal records.
This is about 0.14% of our entire national population in the last 20 years: nothing close to 1%. Shame on global media.
Listen Nigeria, don't let anybody woo you into believing that you are a criminal just because you are a Nigerian.
Nigerians are
NOT criminals.
You are NOT a criminal.
You are topnotch; second to none around the world.
I am proud am created a Nigerian, thank you . .

ANTI QATAR COUNTRIES DEMAND LIQUIDATION OF ALJAZEERA
The simmering gulf crisis that resulted in partial blockade of Qatar as a nation has taken another turn as fellow Arab nations gives Qatar a 13 point demand with an ultimatum to get them done in 10 days. Out of the 13 demands and closure of Aljazeera is the one you and I may likely notice . The list of demands include
1. Close Aljazeera Tv
2. Halt funding for groups designated terror groups
3. Severe Ties and affiliation with Iran
4. Cut tie with Muslim brotherhood, AlQaeda, Hezbollah
5 Pay some unspecified sum of money as compensation
6 Ban naturalisation of citizens of four listed countries and expel those currently in Qatar
7.Close Turkey Military base in Qatar
etc
The list is not exhaustive here but I doubt if Qatar will be able to carry out all the demands in 10 days. I am personally not interested in seeing AlJazeera closed

PRESIDENT BUHARI OF NIGERIA DESCRIBED AS PHARAOH
A former minister of Aviation FEmi Fani-Kayode popularly called FFK has stated that the president of Nigeria is like Pharaoh of Egypt who has been rejected by God. This is symbolic because this accusation is coming at a time when Igbos some of whom Identify themselves as Israelites are seeking peaceful exit from Nigeria or at least a true federalism so that each region can control their resources and develop in accordance with their values.
FFK is a man who speaks up when elders begin to mince words. His description of Buhari as a Pharaoh was following a release by another of his Kinsmen Pastor Bakare who described Buhari as king David. FFK wrote "David was an anointed servant of the living God and a member of the Kingdom of light. Buhari is not, but like Pharaoh and Herod…Buhari has been rejected by the Lord and he is suffering the judgement of God for his injustice and wickedness to others."
The truth of the matter is that absence of Buhari translates to better life and progress to many Nigerians even as he refused to address his vice president as Acting president. Obviously these descriptions will not match a David.
