The school curriculum in Nigeria has been recently changed from non functional to offensive. It is this type of flagrant manipulation of the masses that compels many Nigerians to support demand for a restructured country so that each region can reach a consensus and decide what they want to teach their children in high school
The Christian Association of Nigeria has sent a high calibre delegation to the Acting president complaining that the minister of education has arbitrarily removed CRK or Christian religious Knowledge from school curriculum and has replaced it with Arabic Studies or Arabic Studies and French. Students are forced to either study Arabic Studies or study French. They emphasised that there are no French Teachers anywhere in the country and therefore students have no choice than to study Arabic Education which is one step to Islam.
Some fiery Pastors have said that Nigeria is being Islamized before our very eyes and have promised to approach the problem with potent prayer sessions. Incidentally the Ag. President of Nigeria is a Pastor but some have said that he is not really an acting president, rather he is a coordinator of the presidency as implied by President Buhari himself in his leave notice.
This is a crisis of confidence as Christians in North are no longer certain whether their interest is being represented. In the southern part of the country, I doubt if any school will reach Arabic studies, Instead they are angling for re introduction of Geography and History including History of Nigeria.
Nigeria is becoming a cesspool of unhappy entities but there is still hope.
