Once again, Nigeria's president has gone abroad to tarnish the image of Nigeria through his utterances. He told the body of potential investors that those who ruled Nigeria in the past 16 years looted Nigeria dry and saved nothing and later said that the looters are now sponsoring the militants to destroy the economy. First of all, we all know that the plight of the militants and their demands are beyond the anti corruption fight of the present federal government. Therefore it will be wrong to attribute the militancy to the anti corruption fight. Secondly in the course of crack down on vandalism and oil Bunkering, Nigerian Navy have destroyed several boats used for oil bunkering and and several illegal refineries where the Militants are producing gasoline and diesel for local use and for export. It is therefore very clear that these people do not need any sponsor to give them money to purchase weapons unlike Boko Haram that cannot engage in any economic activity. If Nigerian president is able to convince foreign investors that past government officials are sponsoring the militants, It shows that the demands of the militants may never be addressed squarely and the foreign investors are being told that Nigeria is divided, violent and non conducive for business and investment. People sometimes wash their dirty linen in market place without realising in. The operation crocodile smile I believe have helped to reduce the vandalization. It is time to curb the militancy issue once and for all
