After the emergence of Akeredolu as the flag bearer of APC in the up coming gubernatorial election in Ondo state, indigenes of that state were seen rejoicing that the era of Godfather-ism in that state has finally come to an end. Many Nigerians who followed that primary election expressed their satisfaction with the outcome. APC as a party has shown an example worth following. Pessimists are however reminding Ondo state that this is just a primary and that the God fathers and king makers are free to chose who to support even after primary. There is no law that prevents an APC donor from donating to members of another party, especially with the prevailing attitude of the President which sends the signal that he needs no help from any party member. In fact Akeredolu may conclusively lose the election without knowing where the spank is coming from.

PREMATURE CELEBRATION OF GODFATHER DEFEAT IN ONDO
