Does it mean that every person in Nigeria buy their rice in bags? Personally I have never purchased rice in bag. Many Nigerians keep saying that a bag of rice is now 22000 Naira. At least farmers will have a reason to rejoice for those searching for positive report in the midst of gloom. However Buhari and  ruling party does not have any reason to rejoice at all. They  have smiled uneasily saying that GDP that was predicted to recede by -2.9% only receded by -2.6%. Please recession is recession. It is now clear that something is fundamentally wrong and needs to be corrected.

If you have never missed a flight you may not understand the feeling when someone is told that it is impossible to board a plane that is about to take off. Civil Aviation Boss in Nigeria Mr Benedict Adeyileka caused a commotion at MMIA Lagos when he was told that he could not board an Abuja bound Arik flight .He saw that the plane was about to take off and  drove into the tarmac and attempted to use his vehicle to block the take off. It was said that he succeeded in aborting the take off, after all he is the director of the Civil Aviation Authority.. The funny part of the story is that after the drama, he decided not to continue with the journey.
The passengers could not contain their annoyance. Anyway a warning was issued immediately that nobody should ever try that act of bravado at home or at any other airport for that matter even if it is your private plane taking off from your private airport.. That the pilot did not hit the vehicle will qualify as  a kind of miracle.

What is wrong with Nigerian football federation, in fact, what is wrong with Nigeria's ministry of Sports?, Actually, what is wrong with the whole country Nigeria. Not long ago Stephen Keshi was coaching the Nigeria's senior  football team, Sunday Oliseh who then did not understand the nature of the job was busy saying that Keshi was not a coach and went ahead and offered his services. Luckily for him he got the job. In the first year of employment he was owed several months of salary and he also became a regular customer of a hospital in Belgium. The day he abandoned the job he did not consider the debts owed him. It was as if he ran for his dear life. Siasia was somewhere smiling at Oliseh's attitude. Siasia did not campaign too much because he has produced results in the past. He got a chance to coach Olymic team and won a medal with them. However along the line he was heard lamenting that life is not easy when you are owed 5 months salary. To add salt to an injury, The red beret-ed sports minister once stood in front of him and asked the players " Where is your coach?"  I believe at that point Siasia made up his mind.

SIX UNIVERSITY LECTURERS SACKED FOR SEXUAL HARRASSMENT

The issue of sexual harassment and sexual transctions is becoming a cause for alarm in Nigerian Universities. Many Lecturers, many of them married are gaining notoriety for offering high grades to female students in exchange for sexual gratification. It does not matter who approached who because the lecturers are supposed to be shining light for young generation to emulate. The malignancy has reached such a dimension that some female students who graduated with lower grades are now judged more reliable than those with higher grades they only got throw abhorrent means. In other words first class grades from many Universities have become highly questionable. When these graduates get employed you will see someone with second class honors editing the works of someone that has first class. Nigeria must do something to arrest the this tide of decadence. Students should form clubs against harassment and purchase of grades. The sacking of these lecturers is good but not enough. They need to face the law. They need to do what auto industries do. They should recall all the students with purchased grades and give the appropriate grade so they can be forgiven.

Nigeria is a place where everyone is on his own. The elderly, the jobless. indigent children and disabled people are not remembered in budgets year after year. Even when there is a budget for them it is ambiguous non systemic and ends up being siphoned by those that are already comfortable. We often forget that food is a human right that a government that gas hungry people roaming the street have already failed. Occassionally rich people in Nigeria try to bridge the gap by going to donate food to charity, renovate houses and even give scholarship. One Senator was heard saying that his salary need to be huge because he shares it with indigent people in his senatorial zone. Politicians are secretly happy to donate to random people and take pictures but they are not willing to pass laws to build a shelter in every local government and feed people that are hungry and possible give pocket money to the jobless. Many young Nigerians grow up with the burden of knowing that there are jobless family members to be fed, retired parents to be taken care of ,churches to receive tithe and may other responsibilities not calculated into their salaries. That is depressing. For every one person that receive bail out from a politician or celebrity there are million  more about to die of hunger and disease. Maybe if Government had a feeding and job program for hungry people there would be decreased militancy and crime. It is excellent that Senator Saraki assisted Yekini's mother but he is in a position to make law for states to take care of their poor people.

It is time for Nigeria to know what is important in life. No farmer should lose crops to cattle invasion, No industry should find it hard to get dollars or to change Naira to dollars, No worker should be owed salaries, no position should be occupied by a novice or a retired person, the list goes on and on. In fact the country Nigeria is truly upside down as some people have described it.

Attahiru Jega has likened Nigeria's unity to marriage in Catholic Church and emphasized till death do us part rather than for better for worse. In the recent days in Nigeria unity is beginning to take more center stage rather than progress. If Jega is speaking for any particular part of Nigeria, it is clear that he is arguing from position of weakness and representing that part of Nigeria as a parasite. It is only a parasite that will cling to his host and be shouting till death do us part.  No part of Nigeria will necessarily become bankrupt if Nigeria is divided or restructured. All zones in Nigeria are blessed with arable lands, human resources, minerals. This is just like in some marriages even in Catholic where one person is digging and another taking glory or even covering the trench. Any part of Nigeria that produce more should take more glory. Many in Nigeria prefer power and death to progress and good life..

According to Delai lama, people should try and study Eastern traditions properly before delving into meditation. He said that sleep is the best form of meditation. If sleep is truly the best form of meditation, how is it that some people perform ten complete hours of sleep in a day and still they are looking for spare time to do some meditation. Some even believe that he went to Buhari behind closed doors and again delivered Obama's message " You are doing well in your fight against corruption" It is possible that Nigerians are expecting too much from America. What if Kerry was in Nigeria to try and save 250 000, children from dying of malnutrition in North East Nigeria. Speaking to a Southern governor or CAN president will not make much difference. especially with the leaning of Boko haram against Christians. It is becoming clear that after oil and money from oil, religion is the next biggest albatross over Nigeria. John Kery must prepare for another visit. This time around he must visit unified CAN president, Oba of Lagos, and president of Ohaneze of Igbos.

Otherwise how is it that United States designed a jet that can evade radar among other things and China produced a replica within a blink of an eye. Worthy of mention is wiki leak and hackers anonymous who work as mercenaries just like in real war. In fact, we all know that cyber war fare is a reality. however it is difficult to choose sides. In fact if there is any information you want the world to know, all you have to do is write a personal email to Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump and maybe many other people. If somebody is not good at something, 2 years is enough to get Masters degree even in tough fields like nuclear science. He should educate himself, fix the errors of card reading machine, test it several times in addition to electronic collation of result or indeed any other method that may help. Credible election is basic but Nigeria's problem is systemic. People are therefore looking forward to kick out leaders that are anti reform and saying there are no guarantees is a sign of hopelessness.

In sane societies where workers are given mortgages to buy houses, once you miss your mortgage for 3 months you will be thrown out of your house by the banks. Nigeria Labour congress has therefore decided that If you are not paid your salary for 3 months, you can as well take the liberty to raise money from another source for feeding and bills that cannot wait. Of course few of them are already practicing 'no pay no pay' but a law is needed to cover all of them for such a counter joke. However Nigerians did not hold that against him because where there are no expectations, body language alone is adequate for communication.So also in one of his defensive tweets, Garba Shehu has said that Buhari is a victim of tyranny of expectation.In other words he is saying that Nigerians had wicked and unreasonable expectations from Buhari. I hope he was part of Buhari's campaign trail and witnessed when Buhari promised heaven and earth. Of course people must fight to keep their lucrative job in the best funded sector of the Nigerian economy. However when you make promise and fail and get people to deny excuse and deceive people, it is your integrity that is being mortgaged.
