GHOSTS AND DEAD SIGN TO RECALL NIGERIAN SENATOR

The desperation of Nigerian politicians knows no bounds and we keep breaking the records in reverse direction. This time around a senator who is in a bitter ego battle with the governor of his state has raised an alarm that the collection of signatures towards recalling him from Senate is nothing but a charade marred by unprecedented corruption and dishonesty.

Senator Dino Melaye first called for state of emergency in his state following what he called a second assassination attempt on his life. He thereafter claimed that Governor Bello who is owing 15 months salary paid Millions to career criminals to collect signatures towards  his  recall  from senate of  the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Dino claimed that one of those collecting signatures confessed that all the signatures were actually forged inside somebody's living room and the list of people whose signatures will be forged was obtained from the electoral commission.

At the end of the day, signatures of dead people appeared on the list and the number of signatures far exceeded the number of accredited authentic voters in the state. In fact there are  more than 70 000 non authentic voters on the list.

On anotnher hand Governor Bello who is embattled and is said to be a governor mainly because of his proximity with Buhari is said to be fighting his enemies with every weapon available. He even organised a prayer session for Buhari and told the congregation that Buhari will soon be back. Saying that Buhari will soon be back has become a political stunt in Northern Nigeria where Buhari is still seen as a solution rather than a problem.

Anyway the dice is cast.Dino is likely to survive and Bello is also likely to survive because removing a governor remains an uphill task. However in Nigeria money talks because our Lady Justice has her eyes wide open and collects bribe in US dollars
