NIGERIAN SENATE DEMANDS 2014 CONFAB REPORT TO AID RESTRUCTURE OF THE COUNTRY

The senate of the republic of Nigeria has asked the executive arm of the government to officially forward the report of the 2014 national confab conducted by former president Goodluck Jonathan to enable the honourable members to take a critical look at the report in order to discuss the modality for restructure of the country and to usher in a new Nigeria. Some people have crossed fingers in apprehension, expecting nothing short of show down since president Buhari has publicly expressed his disgust for the confab report and stated that he has not even mustered the courage to look at it.

The political atmosphere in Nigeria has recently become so charged that one is inclined to agree with the senators that if something will happen tomorrow anyway, why not facilitate it today and take the credit. There is palpable stalemate in Nigeria with the confrontational stand of the following groups;
1.  Arewa youths who are demanding explusion of Igbos from North and a new Nigeria without Igbos
2. Ohaneze ndi Igbo and other elites like Atiku Abubakar, Governor Wike etc demanding restructure of the country and fiscal federation
3. Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB demanding Biafra referendum and secession, threatening to truncate up coming elections in Anambra state
4. Oduduwa youths asking IPOB to stop talking about Biafra or risk expulsion from South West
5. Northern Elders forum claiming that declaration by Arewa youths is justified
6. Christian Association of Nigeria asking for protection of Northern minority
7. Benue state and Taraba State making laws to ban open grazing of cattle in people,s properties
8. Kaduna State floating residency permit and compulsory registration
9. Niger Delta Militants demanding change in ownership of oil wells and a state of Niger Delta
e.t.c

If the senate is bold enough to initiate an amicable solution to the raging imbroglio, they should be commended and supported by all.
