Nigeria's minister of Aviation and former Governor of Oil rich Rivers State has stated that the largest amount of money offered him as bribe was one billion Naira cash. At the sight of the cash he said he screamed..... Of course he will say that he rejected the bribe but he was the same person that openly said that all those fighting him in Rivers state are people he gave billions of Naira.
It has become the norm for Nigerians to speak about outrageous events with some smirk at the corner of our mouth and with no fear of repercussions. Within the same week, a kidnapper named Evans was arrested and he said that he once kidnapped someone in Lagos and the ransom he collected was 1 Million US dollars in cash.
Many Nigerians listening to these stories barely have enough to eat , drink and live a decent life. Some secrets are better left in the closet and if they should be exposed it should only be used to teach a positive lesson.
